Norman (Hurricane) Smith (22nd Feb 1923 – 3rd Mar 2008) from London, was a record producer and engineer on all the early EMI Beatles studio recordings, up to Rubber Soul; & also produced 3 of Pink Floyd s first four studio albums The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, A Saucerful of Secrets, and Ummagumma.

[he also produced one of the initial rock concept albums, the Pretty Things' S.F. Sorrow and early recordings by Barclay James Harvest.

His solo single hit "Don't Let It Die"was originally written with John Lennon in mind, but Smith version was released and became a Nº 2 hit in the U.K. The following release "Oh, Babe, What Would You Say?", went to Nº 1 in the USA.

This 1972 album release is a collection of his best work. His growling, distinctive voice briefly became extremely popular and
provided an interesting alternative to the bubblegum filled Top tunes of the time. You either loved it or you didn´t and its musical relevance is now purely nostalgic.
