Strange record this. Has all the elements of slightly cheesy jazz but has such speedy furious breaks that it becomes something interesting. Time Undefined has a blizzard of hats churning over a droning synth pad and a deep vocal sample. Not much bass in the "drum & bass" equation apart from a few 303 prods, very trebly and some of the hats cut into almost Squarepusher territory! Synth pads and chiming piano come in as the beats get more frenetic. A cool unexpected track.

Walk On combines a skitting beat with a chipmunk soul vocal sample. Running throughout the track is a chiming marimba synth line that oddly reminds me of Synchronicity I by The Police. Wailing sax comes in which has a late 80's Roxy Music vibe. The whole tune has a weird 80's pop put through a mincer feel that is at once tuneful and slightly queazy. If they chilled out the beat this could have been a bit of a "Pulp Fiction" hit but the breaks twist it into something almost avant garde.

A cool record, it is like a fight between smooth jazz and the sort of blistering breaks you would get on early rave tunes. Compare the textures of something by Flytronix and this, similar ambient jazz vibes but while something like The Rhode Tune plods along with a straight forward groove these songs bust at the seams with inventive beats. Considering I got it for £1 it is a bargain!
