"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" is the sophomore LP by the San Diego-based psychedelic rock band Iron Butterfly. The album became a best seller, going platinum and even becoming the best selling album on Atlantic! But is this album really deserving of this? You bet it is!

The A-side of the album contains 5 good songs. These serve as great examples of the psychedelia period. My personal favorite on this side is "Flowers & Beads".

But what really makes this album special is the B-side. The B-side includes only one song - the title track. Seventeen minutes of epic greatness, containing a solo by each member. The song was actually supposed to be "In The Garden Of Eden", but legend has it lead singer Doug Ingle was "stoned out of his mind" and kept slurring the words. The single version, although a hit, shortened the song to just two minutes and isn't nearly as great as this!

Overall, if you're a psychedelic rock fan - you should have this album anyway. But if you're not, I'd highly recommend this!

The inner sleeve has a picture of Iron Butterfly's Ball which was released in'69 ( wikipedia). So this isn't from 1968?
