As much as everyone would like to hear a new Iron Maiden studio album, we have yet another live album; the 13th official by the band unless I miscounted. I ended buying this deluxe edition on CD, as I thought switching around three LPs would grow tiresome rather quickly.

Sound and production-wise this is probably the best sounding Maiden live album. Even with not-quite hi-fi setup you'll get exceptionally good and detailed sound, something that almost redefines how a heavy metal live album should sound. Especially Nicko's drumming in well presented in the mix. And while the band is in great shape, 2018 is not 1982's "Beast over Hammersmith" nor 1985's "Live After Death", nor is the set list anything unique, apart from a few pieces. So, we are yet again treated with 2 Minutes to Midnight, Run to the Hills, Iron Maiden, and all the rest, and thankfully a few surprise numbers too, like the Blaze-era song Sign of the Cross and the classic Flight of Icarus.

Not sure where this album will eventually be placed in the huge discography of the band, but it certainly showcases a latter-day Iron Maiden in a good live form.
