I'm quite ridiculous what was really the first TNOTB CD press in the UK. The first press for the Powerslave was the so called German "BRONZE" edition in 1984, the first ones for "Piece Of Mind" and "Somewhere In Time" were made by NIMBUS in 1986. The first "7th Son" was German Sonopress or UK EMI Swindon, I don't know for sure which (maybe they were issued at one time), but I've seen no others. If somenone can correct me I'd be grateful. First album and Killers were also all Sonopress and Swindon, all with "FAME" numbers. What was the first TNOTB is a mystery for me, because all British ones I've seen had the earliest Father matrix number AR 4 (AR 4 :4:7.), so where are the three previous masters? Another mystery is that there is written on CD "Made In England", not "Made in (the) UK" as on all other releases. Paperwork I've seen was 2 types: printed in Holland, with small font writing about the printer and without FAME number and another British with FAME number on tray card (UK-C-FA-3178) in thick letters as on the first 2 albums and without name of printer and country. It seems to me that Dutch paperwork attributes to older presses, though I'm not sure. The only foreign CD with British cat. number was the Austrian DADC one having British paperwork with FAME number (UK-CD-FA-3178), but I don't think it's the first press for UK. By the way, when those FAME numbers appeared on Maiden CDs? I think sometime around 1993? I've seen them on all Maiden CDs except Powerslave. If anyone knows exactly about the first UK press of TNOTB, please let me know, OK?
