At a time when there was mainly Studio 1 minimalism and "Rhythm & Sound" BS, youngster Richard Bartz fuqqed our ears with clever, harttt, yet soulful true Techno. The first four Kurbel EPs, three of which were generously re-released on the CD "Escape", proved that Germany doesn't have to envy Detroit for real Techno and that racists should better shut up... Such competition is good for all and I wish there was more of it these days. This EP produced not by Bartz but by Heiko Laux and Johannes Heil and track B2 was a huuuge hit and floorkiller with Vaeth et al.
