The record I just received copy sounds great. No pops or skips as some earlier reviewers described.

Orphée was Jóhann Jóhannsson's last solo composition. It is both poignant and beautiful. From its repetitive and yearning pieces of shadowy subterranean beginnings, one is ascended to light through the aching womb of metamorphosis … A interior journey … a musical landscape coupled with vividness, emotional luminosity and solace.

Orphée is much more than a poignant end to his innovate and groundbreaking career as a truly remarkable composer … so much more! One could say that it is a self-eulogy, expressed in the form of a composition of arresting music ... notation of an interior or spiritual voyage.

It is so sad that this singular composer, who composed such extraordinary, exceptional, distinctive, impressive and above all beautiful compositions left us … so soon. I feel a great sense of sadness but also gratitude that Jóhann Jóhannsson's music came my way.

Listening to his music now evokes poignant waves gently and slowly merging with the melancholic shore of ones heart … not a sad state or emotion but something much more complex and profound with beauty, love and peace there too … I guess it has always been like that whilst listening to his music! His profound compositions, especially his solo works came from an interior place. They were like an invitation to our own inner or spiritual worlds … a place where solace can be sought and experienced.

Jóhann Jóhannsson - 19 September 1969 - 9 February 2018. May The All-Compassionate rest his soul. Amin

Awesome brilliant music. Appalling sound quality. One wonders what happened during pressing? Anyone else having this issue?

When I visited Iceland I visited 12Tonar, one of the most popular record shops in the country. I bought 6 albums, one of them is by Johann Johannsson. The people in charge of the store showed me another Johann's work on his label, same name as the store. They talked about it very proud. I could notice he was a very respected man. I'm glad about It.

A bit late to the party, but I just got this record and the pressing is atrocious. I've had nothing but trouble from Deutsche Grammophon pressings. Their customer service is non existent. They don't seem to care about the pressing issues they continually have. Quite sad because they release a large amount of music I like. I'll think twice before getting any more vinyl from them. Price would have to be abnormally good.

Just down right sad music. And I mean that with outmost respect. The opener "Flight from the city" is just breathtaking. A monochromatic modern world covered in steel, rain, fog and beauty.

Any comment about the sound of this vinyl issue?. I would like to purchase it, but I'm a little afraid of its pressing...
