In the last decade J. T. Adams has increasingly become a significant force in the field of religious music. Not only does he posses a beautiful singing voice but his ability to compose and arrange choral groups is phenomenal as evidenced by ,the success of his "Men of Texas" albums. This album "The Prince of Peace" is an entirely original score pertaining to the birth of the Christ Child, and is Mr. Adams' second Christmas composition in as many years. His first being the highly successful "Glory to God" cantata.
J. T. was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas. the- place he now resides, and graduated with a masters degree from East Texas State College where he remained as a professor upon graduation. His music was used most recently in Tokyo for the Japan New Life Movement where the audiences not only took him, but his music to their hearts. He said that one of the thrills of his life was to have been present to hear his music. so beautifully played, by the (90 piece) Nippon philharmonic orchestra during this Christian Crusade.
Mr. Adams has previously composed two other original cantatas "Glory to God." a Christmas cantata. and "Worthy is the Lamb." an Easter cantata. His latest work "The Prince of Peace" is already receiving enthusiastic acclaim as have his earlier works.
The J. T. Adams Chorale provides a beautiful blending of outstanding voices which form a solid backing for this album. These are a hand picked qroup of top singers from the Dallas and East Texas area. Gregorv Walcott of Hollywood does the narration.
