Trombone soul-jazz with strings is a good way to describe this album. Odd yet cool blend of music I like it!

Confusing album, clearly one of the early Creed Taylor managed albums. At some point this sounds like a Christmas album. It is more traditional jazz coming from the 60's and not yet funk, or jazz funk influenced.
