j-treds is one of these rappers, who sadly never received access to a greater mainstream-audience because he never dropped a fully blown album. Nevertheless his works which appeared on several 12" are mad dope!
"make it happen" is one of the most positive rapsongs ever. the piano and the sax are matching perfectly.
the lyrics are also sort of positive and encourage the listener to get his/her shit started! it is this crazy "yo! gonna make every moment count"-style i love about his verses because it comes really authentic and is far away from some corny happy shit. skill-wise the b-side is also on a proper level but the beat lacks a certain creativity- therefore it is a pretty average song in my opinion. this piece of wax belongs to the highly collectable fondle 'em catalogue and matches to the label's other releases especially the "hagen daz" track by el da sensei on the boulevard connection 12" which has also a chilled-out vibe (i possibly will review this one soon...)
