What a glorious song! Almost 50 years later, it is still wonderful. I think we can pretty much bet that anything released in this decade will be long forgotten in 50 years

From what I know the maroon label is very rare, "similar" to a first pressing or limited promotional release. There's a rumor that there is also an orange label floating around.

Brunswick was used by Decca to issue new jazz and rock recordings in the 50's and 60's. Decca decided to release Wilson's recordings on Brunswick so as not to blemish the pristine image of the Decca label with the association of an R&B artist. During this time period R&B records were still referred to as "Race Records."

The executives at Brunswick were in a constant state of war with Decca to get Wilson the same kind of promotional budgets as Decca's white recording artists. Another sore point, was the amount of initial pressings Decca would allocate for distribution on new singles for such artist. Decca eventually gave in and officially formed Brunswick Record Corporation, which leads me to believe that the image shown on the details page may be a re-release?, but still 1967-69.

What makes the most sense to me is, the maroon label is from the Decca/Brunswick conflict and the black label is from when Brunswick became independent, basically got its way and made more copies with possibly the same cat #.

You could ask more for the record, list it as Rare Issue Maroon Label?

I have a Maroon Label version of this 45 that says "Made in Canada" above the Brunswick logo. Does anyone know anything about it? Does another release need to be added to this page?
