Of all the Jade Warrior albums in the Island "Elements" series this one has to be the weirdest and most eclectic of all. Really, Jade Warrior were pushing beyond the boundaries of what could be called rock! There is rock involved, in small doses, but mostly "Kites" flies in a unique unfocused genre hopping, genre blending, wonderfully executed melange of styles, Oriental and Occidental mix seamlessly, from ethereal temple drones to frenzied climaxes, restraint and power - that's the key to this refined style, a unique genre that was Jade Warrior's Island years.
