To me, this one is the best collab between Jah Wobble & Bill Laswell! Simply because the sound design, mastering, diversity of instruments, the buildup, i mean, this album was intelligently produced by prolific high calibre musicians. Worth checking out the whole album and you will understand what i'm talking about. Though, this one is just CRIMINALLY UNAVAILABLE ON VINYL! Please try to do something to press this one on a double LP so we connoisseurs and collectors alike can securely shelf this into our collection. 10 out of 10. Jah Wobble & Bill Laswell's best ever album! <3

Without question one of the absolute best albums from either Wobble or Laswell. Every note is perfect. The sound engineering is almost an instrument unto itself it's so crucial. I will never understand how this does not have a vinyl release.

My first thought on listening to this was that Laswell might have put it together right after working on the Miles Davis "Panthalassa" remix project. While the bassists get top billing here, the other standout instrument is trumpet (and cornet), at least for the first 2/3 of the album. Keys/electric piano come forward towards the end. If you liked Panthalassa and like the idea of a similar trip with tabla-oriented percussion, this is a perfectly nice album. I'm a fan of Wobble's bass more than Laswell, and am most happy when his playing commands the track, but I'd say the bass, while prominent in the mix, is generally enmeshed in the ensemble playing here. If you like this and don't have "Panthalassa" already, I encourage you to get up with it, and on to original some Davis albums: "In A Silent Way" and "Filles de Kilimanjaro" to start.

This has enough moments that give you goose bumps. I love the echo/ reverb on the trumpet - an instrument I loathe to hear in any music. In fact, many of the (pretty traditional) instruments, seem treated with some sort of effect or other giving it a very spacey feel. (Foreign) vocals (also treated?) accompany two of the tracks, and are not of this world - incredible!
If you are in search of music to accompany your forays into altered states of consciousness, give this a try. It even has two luminous looking mushrooms on the cd cover.
When I put this on I can imagine being at a lapa, surrounded by bush and the sounds of african wildlife, drinking cocktails to the sound of running water as a cool evening approaches.... Very relaxed, mysterious, emotional and refreshing!
