I understand that Holden was known as a Progressive House DJ at the time this was released, but in listening to this again for the millionth time, I really wouldn't describe this as Progressive House at all. It's definitely leaning more toward techno with a lot of melody, which is what I tend to enjoy the most. This compilation is a timeless classic. I'll always be in awe of it.

quite simply one of best electronic mix albums I've listened to.

I still remember the day I got this at Virgin Mega Store in Dallas. I popped it into my cd player in my car and drove around until both cd's were done. I think this is probably the best progressive mix comp of all time, they don't make them like this anymore. It really made me sad when he went so experimental because he was my favorite producer and after his DJ-Kicks album I never really got into much of his stuff after that, though he does have some good techno cuts still.

Great mix, but the successor to Northern Exposure? PAH! I fart in your general direction for saying such drivel. It's a good mix, but then the music on tap during the golden era of prog wasn't short of classics. The album peaks with the almost unbelievably good Luke Chable remix of PQM's 'you are sleeping'.

Worth a purchase, but hardly the god sent album people are cracking it out to be, many of the GU and Nubreed albums walk all over this.

Holden has, sadly, turned into a right pretentious whelp. Performing the most erratic, skittish noise possible. The twisty moustached whoppers love it, but us die hards want him back in the house music fold - but he'll never do it, especially after heavily criticising his prog fan base in that ill fated X-fade interview.

One of the most beautiful emusic's albums I've ever listened. Simply perfect, elegant, gorgeous.
I really love it. I've listened for the first time 10 years ago and even today it stills in my heart.

I really hope that it won't be true someday, but still it's the last true progressive generation (2003-2005). It changes its hooj choons style to the style of such labels as Border Community & Yoshitoshi. Sometimes this style reminds me of Kompakt CD's. This progressive wave seems more minimalistic than a kind of sound landscape.

As for CD. It takes the whole progressive sound from those years. Still sounds great, top quality mixing, one of the best 2000's DJ Mixes.

Its hard for me to explain what this mix CD means to me. For me the perfect mix. CD1 and CD2 is also amazing. Really great music.

First CD now and forever! Exciting journey from start to end, impossible to turn your attention away from it. I will never ever forget MFA's 'The Difference It Makes', Nathan's huge 'Outhouse', and Petter's soundtrack of heaven 'These Days'. Must have for everyone who's really into pure electronic music.

Where the f*** have I been??? Stumbled across this release a couple of weeks ago on discogs, and given all of the glowing reviews, I thought I would give it a try, although I can't say that I was really expecting much, given all of the superlatives thrown around these days. After the first listen . . . Wow, just awesome. Definitely of the same quality (and probably import as well) as Oakenfold's original Goa Mix. Absolutely classic. I now know what I will be listening to for the next few weeks . . .

As for some of the young'ins who lament below about how no one knows about this CD, well, just accept it as a private pleasure, and be happy that _you_ found it . . . :)
