I might as well agree with those who love it. Whenever I listen to the Cello Sonatas, as well as the concertos and Bach's Cello Suites, I would find them enjoyable. I used to have these Mercury Living Presence CDs with Janos Starker:

Janos Starker, Gyorgy Sebok - Starker Plays Chopin / Bartók / Mendelssohn
Janos Starker, Gyorgy Sebok, Stephen Swedish - Janos Starker • Italian Cello Sonatas • Bach
Janos Starker, Dvořák*, Bruch*, Tchaikovsky*, Antal Dorati, London Symphony Orchestra* - Cello Concerto In B Minor, Op. 104 / Kol Nidrei / Variations On A Rococo Theme

I also had this RCA version of Bach's Cello Suites due to positive reviews.:
Johann Sebastian Bach - Janos Starker - The Suites For Solo Cello

I've read that the older CD release of Bach's Cello suites didn't quite had the right speed. The SACD release had the right speed, as well as this 10-CD set. As compared to the RCA version, I would prefer the one on Mercury.

I've sold the single CDs I've mentioned above because of this 10-CD set. We would know that these recordings were made way back when, even before I was born. But it's Hi-Fi Stereo! Back in the day, it would be state-of-the-art. Besides the way how it sounds, you may find the performance top notch.
