is there any way to differentiate the two US pressings (2003 v 2009) without opening package? i'd like to sell a sealed copy i have but i'm not sure which edition it is (though i'm leaning toward the reissue)

In case anyone is wondering, this version does have the original sample for The Red as well as No Games. Quite hard to find since the re-issued version of Champion Sound had to change those for legal reasons.

Question for those that have this release of the album:
This original pressing has the "original beats" for 'The Red" and 'No Games', correct? I'm referring to the beat for 'The Red' that samples Cris Williamson, and the beat for 'No Games' that Madlib also used on MF Doom's 'One Beer' (off MM..Food). Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question - I know the obvious answer should be yes, the original pressing has the original beats for these two tracks - I'm just trying to confirm because JoGooS's comment below seems to indicate that they bought this release and it didn't contain the original version of 'The Red'.
I know the 2009 reissue contains alternate beats for these tracks - I'm just looking to pick up this LP with the original versions of these two tracks, and want to confirm that this release is the "correct" one....Thanks!

I think it`s a pretty dope album overall. Beside the tracks that`ve been already mentioned, I really love
The Mission and MCNasty Filth! I was wondering: Was the ORIGINAL version of The Red on any vinyl-release?
Or does every vinyl release come with the second version, that I really just don`t like.

Overall a real solid reissue. The quality of the case, liner and tape are all very nice. The packaging itself is minimal, and it works. Just a simple foldout of the image and tracklisting on the back. No graphics on the tape, just a mock spraypaint effect of the album title. As far as the sound quality is concerned, it sounded great to my ears. Nice warm cassette tape sound. No overwhelming hissing and the bass notes hit particularily well. I think a good release for the cassette medium. I haven't heard the vinyl edition, but I would imagine that this is just as good, and a cheaper alternative if you want to have an analog copy.
The stand-out tracks to me are: "Champion Sound", "The Red", "The Heist", "React", "Survival Test", "Starz", and "No Games".

"The Heist" is one track in particular I would like to give props to. For me it's one of the best tracks on the album. Jay Dee's production is a very fitting backdrop for the storytelling, obscure, lyrical style that Madlib is known for. The sample of 'Persuasion' by Throbbing Gristle is perfect for this. It gives the track a real eerie, off-kilter vibe that compliments the odd vocal delivery. Another part I dig about it is that it's about this dark & messed up situation of a heist, but is at the same time one of the funnier moments on the tape.

Love the sample of Kraftwerk's 'Ohm Sweet Ohm' from the 'Radio-Aktivität' album at the end of "No Games".

"The Red" and "Starz" are super dope, but the rest is only "good" in my opinion. As far as collab go, "Madvillainy" is a lot hotter.

OMG - is it 12 years since this was released? I was living in France at the time and the bloke downstairs (who also happened to be a producer for local rappers) was playing it all the time but then he moved so i had to go out and buy it for myself - next to the Latryx LP, its one of my favourite ever LPs of independent hiphop
