This is not a typical Jarre release, nevertheless it's something alright.
I will have to go on a track-by-track basis on why the release suffered.

Fresh News:
This tracks is OK. Pretty straight forward and catchy. A saver.

Téo & Téa:
Would be alright if the speech were a little less naughty.
"Body movements, emotion, and sexual activity..."
Wasn't the Geometry of Love record put out already?
This is a good track but the voices record over are plain trash stuff.

Beautiful Agony:
Melody and harmony wise, this track is alright.
The embarrassment commences when some woman starts to moan.
I think the whole sex thing belongs to bed, not a record by Jarre.
Truly a skipper.

Touch to Remember:
Probably one of the best tracks in the album, if it was not for the
idiotic robot speaking every now and then. That took away the beauty of the song.

OK, Do it Fast.
This tracks is alright. Except for the title.
What is this? Some another naughty thing to be done "fast"? LOL Come on...

Partners in Crime 1:
Sample of voice looping endlessly. Irritating.
The song is quite alright. But wait, there is... part 2.

Partners in Crime 2:
It's not over yet. You get to endure more fillers.

This is a funny song. Quite alright.

In the Mood for You:
Okay. Excess of vocoders again. Irritating.

A true Jarre filler.

The second single. Quite nice song.

Melancholic Rodeo:
The worst track in this album. Seriously.
This will make you cry in total disgust.

Teo & Tea 4 AM:
Filler. Total filler. An extended version.

Conclusion. This album is alright, but probably the second worst release from Jarre's carreer (Sessions 2000 getting the trophy). It's ruined by some production decisions. Perhaps if this record could be revisited, like Oxygene was revisited SO MANY TIMES, then a second spin on this could deem to a more palatable album. For now, we will have to tolerate those vocoders and moanings.

It is a good album nevertheless the popular opinion is against it. There is a few problems. One should never release two versions of the same song on the same album no matter how good the song is. Jarre did that with the main track which is a very nice track but also it's very different than the rest of the tracks. It would have been really nice if the whole album was this sort of trance music. The other tracks are more Jarre and a lot of it is good. About 1/3 of the tracks are not that strong and some sound rather old with 90's techno sounds and grooves. There is many interesting and creative tracks like Chatterbox. What I don't like is the sexual moanings in Beautiful Agony. The problem is simply that it is embarassing to openly play this album for the sake of that one track :) I'm not against the track I'm only saying it doesn't fit. Not a bad album but not very strong either. It's nice and cool. Maybe if you did your own edit by dropping a few songs it would get better and bring some of the new Aero tracks to fill in? Often albums can be fixed this way. 4/5

It seems a common dilemma with aging artists, who were once pioneering the whole electronic music genre e.g Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, creative and unique in their style back in the seventies, flattened by midi samplers in the eighties and then trying desperately to keep pace with the young-blood pioneers in the trance and psybient scene later on. Some succeed in their efforts like KS, some ruins their own masterpieces with weird techno garbage like Kraftwerk. This here, Mr. Jarre, is 'Barbie Girl' trash, bare of any artistic handwriting.

The saddest thing about it, this is typical Jarre with a clumsy hint at eurodance this side of Guetta, Sash! and the like.
Some will like it but it's far from sounding that hot.

Not only fans react ashamed with this album, the master himself talked
about it later in an interview, saying that there were difficult times around for him
and he will be sure that an album like this will never come out of his hands again.
But why?´?
It´s not that bad....ok, fans of Mr. Jarre will be disappointed with the cheeky grooves
but for me it is good to listen to from the first to the last track, no real highlights
but also not absolute no go´s.

This album doesn't belong to a trance style at all. Jarre doesn't create Trance music, because it's basically Electronical music. That's based more on different styles like synth, downtempo, electropop, house and nature.
