Released and available in the USA for only 3 days back in 1994 before all cd's were were recalled by EMI, these were pulled from distributors and DESTROYED. However it was too late to recall one export shipment to UK. It's this shipment that went on sale and sold out in hours in UK Record Shops and now sold between collectors for huge sums. Only a small number of originals exist. Jeff himself was surprised on learning how collectible this album has become during a recent interview, mentioning he didn't even own a copy.

There's more to why the release was pulled. But out of respect to Jeff and others I won't divulge. I will say it's a great shame, that one of the forefathers of R&B never got the props he truly deserves for his own recordings. Although nowadays as we look back, those in know are starting to show their true appreciation to Jeff and others those works remain unreleased due to internal record company politics.

This album will never be re-released. It includes R&B/Swing classic 'You called and Told Me' originally available on his debut album 'Quiet Storm'. Though my personal favs are the slower songs especially the title song 'Down Low', which was huge on the London Modern Soul, R&B /Steppers raving scene back in the day. It was so popular and sought after by DJ's and music lovers, that Expansion Records managed to licence the song for inclusion on the 2nd edition of their Soul Sauce compilation series.
