Just curious as I will look to buy on the secondary market - what was the original retail price at stores? Also is this a SBD recorded by the bands sound guys(or hows the quality?)

In an email from DMG:

Thanks for your email.

The sticker will actually have the word 'red' written on it which is how you can tell if it's red vinyl. The sticker on the black vinyl is coloured red but won't say 'red' on it. I have attached the sticker for the black vinyl. You will see it does not have 'red' written on it, it just says '180 gram vinyl'. This is the black one. The red vinyl will say '180 gram red vinyl'.

There were only distributed in the UK so it's likely that you have a black vinyl but please do check the sticker. If it's the same as the example I've attached, it's a black vinyl.

I hope this makes sense. Sorry if this is a bit confusing!

With thanks,
DMG

From the Jesus And Mary Chain site:

RSD Update... April 9
Hi folks. We know we promised you red vinyl for Record Store Day but due to the increased demand, our manufacturers were not able to fulfil all the quantities on red vinyl. But...there will be 340 copies in red available from selected stores in the UK only. These ultra-limited red vinyl’s will be like gold dust! If you find one, be sure to take a picture and send to us on facebook! The red copies will state 'red vinyl' on the sticker.

March 10:
To celebrate Record Store Day 2015 on April 18th Demon Music Group are releasing a limited edition coloured LP of Psychocandy Live. Barrowlands. Recorded as part of the Psychocandy 30th Anniversary Live tour in Scotland, the recording is cut to heavyweight 180-gram red vinyl by legendary engineer Noel Summerville ( My Bloody Valentine / The White Stripes) and sounds huge! 1500 copies are available worldwide via participating record stores!

I thought so as well, but from The Jesus And Mary Chain site:

Is it just me or did anyone else buy this expecting it to be "red vinyl" as described on the RSDUK2015 website? I've read another comment on here about this "red vinyl" issue which is great & most helpful (thank you!) but I can't help feeling a little disappointed & I hate to say it - perhaps we've even been deceived. Still It's a terrific record all the same - made all the better after seeing them live on the Psychocandy tour this year. This is the JAMC in excellent form whether on black or red vinyl.

Apparently there were 2000 of these supposed to be pressed however, due to pressing deadlines/pressures, only 340 were pressed in red vinyl and only in UK. The remaining pressings were all in black.
