Jet's debut, CPH 2000, kicks off with the disco thump of "Silver Pod," a surprising choice when you think that Jet is the same man behind the more IDM-based Dub Tractor. But there should always be room for fun. "Let's Go!" leans more electro, but the twinkling "1978" dives back down into the disco funk. "Aluminum and Wood" take the album in a different direction, though, as more angular melodies begin to appear. A hint of dub appears on "Oh, It's Tricky" and the perky "Hello Hollywood!", while a thrumming rhythm creeps onto "Triple Jet." A solid 4/4 returns on "121 Jet," and "Nova 3" almost sounds like a long lost Underworld track. All good fun, even if it doesn't make a particularly strong impression.
