These 'Special Early Works...' versions have very poor sound. The original (very expensive) and 'The Jam Session' versions have much better sound quality. I don't know about the other ones, but avoid this one unless you want your music to sound hallow and rubbishy. I was shocked when I first heard a different version, before I had always thought this was just a poorly done recording. Nope, just a crappy repressing. Is an extremely excellent album otherwise.

well, maybe jimmy really is on this album but if you're expecting to hear jimmy do his thing, think again. it's all sonny boy Williamson.
