An absolutely stunning surround mix featuring fantastic fidelity and steeped in dynamics, Strange Beautiful Music has several tracks I keep coming back to. The highlight of the disc's surround presentation has to be the quadraphonic presentation of the four guitar lines in the closer, "You Saved My Life" - for fans of surround sound this track alone would be worth the price of admission.

If you know Satch, this album is in the same vein as The Extremist, Time Machine and Flying, couple ballads with wonderful melodies and the rest more upbeat rock tracks with moments of extreme shredding but also Satch's signature ear for hooks that resonate, memorable melodies.

Such a shame they didn't include the surround mix on the recent USB 24/96 release, would be great to have a 5.1 24/96 .flac download of this excellent album but even better would be seeing an album like The Extremist get the 5.1 treatment.
