Get Down At the Disco is pretty good. House Music is also pretty good, but the real stand out is Clappin'& So Good. Its an intense and totally unique disco cut up of Sylvester's Grateful that has an incredible relentless mad energy. It keeps building to frenzied peaks and going into weird breaks, my friend commented the whole track is like a long crescendo all the way through. Its a mystery to me why it remains so obscure. This is Joe Smooth's finest hour as far as I'm concerned. I've got huge respect for him but he tends towards the generic FM radio house on lots of his releases , I know that other people prefer that, but this is fucking out there totally free of genre conventions, a real trip. He's added so much to the source material, it really shows up the utter paucity of imagination of other disco cut up merchants.I think Sylvester would love this.
