Cherubum is for shure one of the most considerable records of this genre. It's a deep trip.
Can't recall a track wich brings such emotion like this one, symphonic, meledious, classic, deep
I rarely play techno at home , but this one is outstanding. OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Johannes Heil's 2000 release Future Primitive showcases Johannes detail and talent at making much more than his more well known hard driving techno tracks. Intro is especially exciting and a great sci-fi opening track for any dj set. 'Children of the Night' is hard to catagorize in a genre so let's not and just call it a very, very catchy song. Johannes tracks are so German they hurt. But he just does them so well you can't fault him as they ooze such brilliance. Check 'Play' out. I am a bit partial to his stuff though I admit. Granted not every time of day is the time to listen to his works but when the time is right, Johannes is right on track. 'Cherubim' is of thee most emotional techno tracks I have ever heard. It's amazing. Cool gatefold double vinyl with excellent artwork. A tour de force techno album covering everything to love in techno.

I don't really remember, and frankly I could not be bothered to anyways, the rest of "Future primitive", but what I can assure you is that The Chains of Babylon and Divine Light Force are two magnificent works, which both made this album worth owning. The first is the darkest track on the album, a straight forward, thumping minimal techno banger with a haunting melody throughout. To make things even better, the track's break downs are all graced with an amazing xylophone sequence which perfectly adds to the macabre atmosphere. One of my favorite Heil tracks.
The second tune is a grand, twelve minute excursion into dark ambience. Disturbing, simultaneously captivating and completely random and disengageing, whatever you angle you approach it from, it just covers me over every time like an enormous tidal wave you never saw coming. Eerie noises, abbandoned factory tones and scattered echoes come out of everywhere...
The rest of the album I found pretty much forgettable, but these two, total opposites, are just great. One is a guaranteed dance floor incinerator, the other is a perfect soundtrack for a listening session in your room before going to sleep, lights out.
