Do yourself a favor and stay away from these garbage money grabs and spend a couple extra bucks on the Reissue from 2013 to get better quality sound and artwork.

Got mine today. Haven't listened to it yet but there is one glaring omission that no one has mentioned. Where's the directors notes that were included with the other 4 volumes?? Luckily I do have the original Lp which has a nice little piece by John Carpenter himself. Thankfully this will definitely be my last Death Waltz Lp. Like someone else here I've lost the faith......

great pressing! i really love the artwork and the wax looks amazing but i wish they would have made Michael a bit lighter so the art wouldn't be so hard to view! online it looks amazing but in person it's very very dark for some reason! either way i am really glad they repressed this so i can have the full halloween collection! highly recommend!

I loooooove the sound of this. It's exactly as presented in the film, warts and all. Much creepier than the 1983 stereo remix.

My copy sounds great! Looks great, sounds great- only complaint (and this applies to their Halloween 1, 2, 4 & 5 releases) are the sleeves. But that doesn't make much difference for me.

Sound issues aside, you must admit the cover nails the classic scene of Myers standing in the rain.

You do realize that this from the original tapes used for the film in 1977. The "original" vinyl release was remixed by John Carpenter for release in 1983 (not sure if he was even involved in the 1979 Japanese release), and was likely mixed differently since it was for a music release and not the film. My point being that the original vinyl release and subsequent reissues were likely mastered to bring out more low end, which likely wasn't as present in the original music cues in the film. If you want something that sounds like that, then seek out those releases. I'm listening to my orange vinyl pressing and it sounds good on my system. There isn't a lot of low end, I agree, but I don't think it was there in the first place. Remember, this music was done in a few days on a shoestring budget.

My copy isn't so much noisy as it is ridiculously "thin" sounding. Even cranking my sub up doesn't help much. It doesn't sound "meticulously mastered," it sounds like shit. But I'd like to compare it to an original pressing to see if it's just the way the master sounds or if they did a crappy job (again) with re-issuing a classic. My main gripes with these companies is twofold. For the amount of money that we shell out for these records there always should be A.) a plain black wax version and B.) a digital download. I am way over the cash grab releases that focus solely on the packaging and not the sound.

Noisy disc! The second half of Side A has a click that repeats throughout the tracks. Lots of surface noise too. So, basically, the usual Death Waltz grind.

E-mailed them for a replacement.
