I possibly like this version more than the original, which is saying a lot. Raw is the perfect description of these mixes. They sound wonderful, but all stripped down, Lennon's voice really shines, especially on It's So Hard. It's my new favorite song on the album. Was hoping for more chatter, but I'm a Beatles nerd and probably in the minority. Great release. I liked it so much I made a playlist of the album from the Super Deluxe Imagine Box, which has all of the mixes heard in the record.

Oddly we've been hearing these versions a lot over the years. They have been the versions used in the documentaries around this album and Lennon's life, of course never complete and with talking over etc, etc. But agree could be the best version of these songs you can now enjoy. Great photo of the studio and the players too.
5500 copies allegedly, not packaged in any special way with stickers etc denoting anything special, is there a standard release on the way....... after RSD dies down for 2019
Clear and white vinyls to follow

According to Rough Trade site, this was limited to 1,500 copies. Link here: https://www.roughtrade.com/gb/music/john-lennon-imagine-raw-studio-mixes
Sounds a bit unbelievable. Does anyone have any further info on how many it was limited to?
Many thanks in advance.

Agree w/the other sentiments about the content & performance.
My side 1 needed cleaned. Skipped on some plastic during first play.
Also, some wobble noise throughout.
Prob just need to put the Viborg Weight Stabilizer on during the next turn.

What an awesome and intimate way to experience this album, the takes used on this are awesome, I think this may be the best way to hear these songs. I love the moments where you can hear Johns breaths between verses and I loved the banter before the song starts on Oh Yoko!. This makes you feel like you really are in the studio watching John perform these beautiful tracks. My pressing sounds great almost no noise. Probably one of the best RSD releases.

What an amazing issue.
I purchased this hoping it was the closest we could get to John, and let me tell you, this is like he is there in the room. So true to the artist, so true to his feelings as he sang, as John felt it. The studio noises, the background chat, everything; you can almost smell the cigarettes burning in the ashtrays.
I listened to it in the dark with my 17 year old daughter in the room, and we both found ourselves in tears, because we were so overwhelmed by the honest portrait of the true spirit of the album.
The best RSD release so far, for its value, for its treasured feeling. I feel very blessed to have this.
The quality of the pressing is also very good, and the "War Is Over If You Want It" poster adds to it no end.
In one word? WOW!!!
