'Folsom Prison Blues' is classic country and essential Johnny Cash. I hear nowadays, when this song is performed, say by Dwight Yoakam, they excise the line 'I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die...' Leave it to this humorless, politically correct world to censor the best line of the song!

I don't know about this 'new' country. Sounds like rock and roll with a steel guitar thrown in. Does anyone get shot in 'new country' songs? Can you mention 'guns'?

As a postscript, I read recently that Columbia censored the single on some versions because of the RFK and MLK, Jr. assassinations. Thank God they did not censor Johnny's performance on the Folsom Prison album.

Mine has a B-side label on both sides... anyone else?
