I love Joyce Simms' first (and best) single for the raw energy and, by modern standards, amateurishness of it all. And I mean this in a good way. Produced by mantronik, a decision was made to emulate brass and reeds with the synths of the day -- so they sound like synths. Also it's been mixed as if Joyce and the music are slightly unaware of each other -- almost like a karaoke performance. If Joyce were to stop, the music might carry on anyway and vice versa.

All this from a day when people were just about to explode eighties electronica into our ears. And for that reason this is a mini masterpiece with a vibrant, rough round the edges energy. I love it.
