KMFDM's sixth studio album, and arguably the "heaviest" album of the original band's existence. This was the first album with guitarist Mark Durante, and engineer Chris Shepard, both of which were on the next 2 albums, which are arguably considered the KMFDM essential trilogy (Angst, Nihil, & Xtort), one could argue that the reason this album has such a heavy sound was due to the fact that this was the first time in the band's history that they had two highly skilled and talented guitar players, also, this was the first time En Esch was working on an album again since "Naive", being Esch was responsible for guitar on the earlier albums, that meant there was now 3 guitarists writing material, and competing for play time on the album, likely leading to healthy competition, and each likely upping the ante (which is likely how a band can go from writing techno driven songs like spiritual house, to bombastic wall of guitar metal tracks like " A drug against war" in just one album). Needless to say, if you've ever heard anything at all you liked from KMFDM, you're going to like this one. Excessive Force's albums are of the same quality and era as Angst, and are equally worth checking out, considering KMFDM only had a short time preforming at this level, it's a shame that the EF albums are often not known about and passed over, because they sit perfectly between Money and Angst.

Does this version include the cardboard case with KMFDM cut into the inner flap? I've got a jewel case version with the same cat# as well, so am curious.

even more rare that the limited 1000 digipak release with the Stencil was the promotional Spray Paint can that was sent to various radio stations. I still have the one that was sent to my college's radio station it has the call letters on the label and says KMFDM Spray Paint with the same album cover image as the CD. the back of the can contains some text that I will have to post later.

easily KMFDM's best album to date. alongside their Symbols/Untitled album, this is an important mogul in the industrial underground with the fusing of industrial with heavy guitar.
