KMFDM's seventh studio album. Personally I have always considered this to be their magnum opus, every track is worth listening to. The album takes off with "Ultra", and you're instantly sent into a hybrid of metal and industrial wall of sound upped with production quality that sounds about as good as anything that had come out at that time (Major label or not) showing that bands didn't need to be signed to a big label to make amazing sounding albums. This is the album that made the world take notice of what KMFDM was doing, example of this was the usage of the album's tracks in both movies and TV at the time, which was too many to bother trying to list. I could literally go through the album and comment on every track, because they are all that good, but to avoid wasting time I'll say this, though virtually tied with "Xtort" if you were to listen to just one single KMFDM album, this is the one to listen to. The only shame was the fact that they were on Wax Trax! at a time when TVT was running the show, so just as Nine Inch Nails experienced with "pretty hate machine", "Nihil" never got the promotion it deserved. One can never know if Nihil would have been a bigger success under the original Wax Trax! label, but it's fair to say that TVT did eventually run Wax Trax! into the ground. It's worth noting that the single "Sin, Sex, and Salvation", which was a Pig/KMFDM joint effort was the catalyst for Nihil, so it is definitely worth picking up too.

The mid 90's was most definetley the "prime" for Industrial and Industrial Metal, the time period from 94-96 is when the best albums were made, and this is that time periods most prolific release in my opinion. KMFDM's heaviest album and one of their best (most fans WILL agree with that). They're probably still earning royalty money from the Mortal Kombat soundtrack that JJJ was on.

This whole album is heavy hitting. Not only that but it's lyrics still ring true today, although the "fascists and terrorists" are the Left these days so I like to think of them when listening to Disobedience. "Flesh" is probably the heaviest track KMFDM has ever done besides "A Hole In The Wall" and it tears your fucking head off and shits down your neck. Brute is up there as well although I'd say Flesh is heavier.

Then there's the fan favorite Juke Joint Jezebel which is highly danceable and a staple of Goth/alt clubs throughout the 90's around the world. This album has a secret track at the end which is a bunch of excruciatingly LOUD steel like noises. I don't even think the track has a name but it's a hidden gem on the original 1995 release.

Chances are, this is the album that introduced you to KMFDM if you were a fan. It's easily the most accessible for someone into Metal as well.

This one is a favorite of many and in my opinion, KMFDM's second best effort behind XTORT.
