Same problems as others. First copy was unlistenable with horrible scratching on both sides. Replaced it via Amazon and the second copy was fine. It sucks that this is such a hit and miss pressing because this is a superb album. Really should have been a 2LP pressing!

My copy has similar problems to what others have described. I actually thought I just got a random bad one, but I'm disappointed to read that it wasn't just me. I am exchanging the one I have in hopes of getting a better one in return, but now my hopes are lessened. Sadly, this might be one I end up keeping just as a nice collector's item rather than as something to listen to.

I can also confirm that there must have been a MAJOR issue with the first set of pressings.

My first version (which I got late as it was delayed two weeks in Canada) was unlistenable. Giant chunks of loud static noise between tracks and during tracks. Pops and clicks, and skipped like crazy on Butterflies.

Got a replacement from Amazon, and it looks exactly the same, but it sounds clean as a whistle. No chunks of static or major pops/clicks.

There is some sibilance on the tracks near the Centre, resulting in a bit of IGD.

If you got a bad copy, I'd highly advise you to swap it out with whatever retailer you got it from.

I received my copy yesterday and am having the same issues as described below. Crackles and pops in certain places throughout, and horrible distortion particularly on the last track. It sounds like the piano is on fire and melting.

I don't use anti-skate on my turntable so maybe the distortion that is something which can be slightly lessened through some tinkering, but this really begs the question. How do LPs like this make it to market?

My copy is pretty clean, but I have to agree that the album could have used a 2xLP pressing - no loud pops on my copy, but the final songs on each side have some odd distortion to the vocals. Perhaps somewhere down the road we'll get double record, but this first clear pressing is still a worthy of grabbing and can already see it in regular rotation throughout the summer. The mastering sadly won't blow you away, but the songs hopefully will (if they haven't already)!

This is a pretty bad pressing from what I can tell. This should have been two LPs-there's tons of inner groove distortion and surface noise at the end of both sides. Loud pops at the end of "Rainbow" damn near ruin that song. Bummer!

First copy I had sounded absolutely terrible --so noisy that it was unlistenable. My replacement however sounds great with little to no clicks or surface noise, so it's pretty quiet overall. Some sibilance on the last song on each side, but otherwise the vocals sound nice.
