It’s all too common these days for an EP to sport a really strong A-Side, only for your smile to drop as the B-side is all filler no killer. This does NOT happen on this offering from Marcel Vogel's own Lumberjacks In Hell and you’ll be spoiled for choice as to which track on this record is your favourite. Karizma opens with a rip-roaring dance floor destroyer that has been played everywhere recently. A clever manipulation of a vocal sample combined with full-bodied bass makes this one of the tracks of the summer. Marcel Vogel lays down a groovy, soul-heavy number backed with familiar percussion (Love Thang – First Choice) but this track holds so much endearing originality. Karizma beefs up Vogel’s offering with an appropriately named ‘Stomp Dub’ which almost combines the two aforementioned tracks to make a peak time powerhouse.

Perfect for: Karizma’s work deserves peak time and could be used in all manner of styles, while Vogel’s offering works really well with a bit of vintage disco.

After all the hype, if you really give a listen, the most annoying, super repetitive track. By August, when you hear it on the dancefloor, you're going to turn around and look for the other room, the other stage, or the nearest bar, or smoking area. Not worth the price point of $40.

Forty quid for a 12" released 3 months ago... from a label that consistently represses. C'mon people!

Work it Out makes you dance for sure, but "I Got Jesus" is the joint in my opinion.
Anyway great EP, good job LiH!

The B-side eats the A side alive. Worthy of anyone's collection.
