This is another of NovaMute's fantastical forays into brave-spirited, pioneering techno in the magical year 1993. NovaMute had a slow start I thought, with big "ravey" (said - cheesy) releases throughout 1992, excepting NoMu 1, which was great, but in '93, things took a 180-degree turn and suddenly NovaMute was turning out the dankiest of the DIZANK! I'm talking innovation here, not just bangin' beats. This was a unique sound in techno, very electronical and well, not so damn dancy. Bangin'? Yes. Hard? Somewhat. Different? Fer sher. Very innovative approach back in '93 - deserving of a listen. Both sides. And if you like your techno on the harder tip, well then you really need to seek this one out. Less cheesy than the "Rotterdam sound", which often got a bit silly (remember Sesam-E's Treet"?), this was hard-edged techno for people like me who wanted their techno to still sound like serious music and not just silliness in beats. A must-hear for the times. Chizek it, brutha - - -
