A curious film soundtrack that some have compared to Jean-Claude Vannier and Serge Gainsbourg's similarly eclectic music of the early 1970s. There's also a hint of the sweeter Ennio Morricone at play. Amazing though that Karl Heinz Schäfer managed to make a full album out of his score. Some tracks only feature as minor snippets in the film, with just two themes repeated extensively throughout the movie. And the movie itself? It's one of those of the low budget French movies of what they then called the "new wave" otherwise a bit Jean-Luc Goddard or Francois Truffaut like in its very hands-on location shooting and totally incoherent story. An interesting mess really with a tentative sci-fi storyline woven into a murder mystery.
