Extremely accomplished and technical performers as Kazuhito Yamashita are often criticized because of "lifeless" and "non-musical" performances since technique is put above music by them. But I don't think it's the case with these recordings. Yamashita's performances, aside from constituting truly bold statements (transcribing full orchestral works for one guitar), are very passionate and expressive. His extreme command on the instrument doesn't deprive his versions of musicality and feeling. Truly awesome recordings are captured in this CD.
