Odd, minimalist blips hover over a murky electronic landscape of tones and hammond organ-like drones; with the vocals buried back in the mix this resembles at times nothing less than Durutti Column or James on particularly brain-scrambling sedatives, mixed by Martin Hannett in a sombre mood of cold angst.
Not wholly oppressive, however; the two tracks have a dub sensibility; and again are somewhat reminiscent of A certain ratio circa "Do the du". Thus the Factory triumvirate is completed, and i didn't even mention Joy division. Difficult to get a handle on this...surprising and, as you probably have guessed from my ramblings above, hard to describe. Hermetic and seems to wear it's influences in that late 70's-early 80's avant-funk angst of Manchester, while retaining it's own elusive identity.... and there's nowt wrong with that..
