THe ORIGINAL "LITTLE JIMMY BROWN" WAS RECORDED BY JIM ED BROWN AND HIS SISTERS, MAXINE AND BONNIE, IN 1959. THE FOLK SONG PEAKED THE BILLBOARD POSITION AT #1 AND REMAINED AT
THE TOP OF THE CHARTS FOR SEVERAL WEEKS.

THE SONG WAS ORIGINALLY "THE THREE BELLS" WHICH SIGNIFIED THE THREE PHASES OF LIFE FOR LITTLE JIMMY BROWN. THE FRENCH TUNE WAS WRITTEN IN 1945 AND LAID DORMANT UNTIL WORDS WERE ADDED. WHEN "THE BROWNS" RECORDED IT, IT BECAME A PART OF FOLK AND COUNTRY MUSIC.
