This is a very different record compared to Khan & Walker's previous album, "Radiowaves". Whereas "Radiowaves" had an oceanic ambient house sound with fluid 303s, "Schleichfahrt" is a much harsher record. Some of the beats have almost an industrial feel to them, and there's none of the ambient drones of the previous album. There's not much melodic or harmonic variation going on within any track; each of them locks on to a steady groove, and a sense of progression is gained only from the small variations in sound and arrangement. "Schleichfahrt", then, is structurally reminiscent of minimal house/techno, but the dryness and loudness of the sound makes it different from the more minimalist efforts by Khan & Walker's Cologne colleagues. An interesting experiment, but certainly less appealing than "Radiowaves".
