I bought the LP version of this album off the back of LOVING 12 bit Blues and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I am not sad I did, but I recommend anyone thinking of doing the same to have a listen on Spotify first, as it is quite a different beast.

The tunes themselves are perfectly pleasant ambient moods drifting to unchallenging electro-pop - particularly on those tracks featuring Torrini. The reason I am giving this album 3 stars however is that it doesn't really move beyond that - I am not sure that the album has anything to say, or if it does, that the substance is terribly interesting.

That said, it's not always the case that you want some kind of challenging, ear-catching, genre-bending humdinger coming out of your speakers, and this album will no doubt get its fair share of spins when it matches my mood just right.

A note on packaging - it comes with a digital download and, slightly disappointingly, a wee booklet containing lyrics and so forth that is presumably nicked from the CD version as it is eactly that size. I find the artwork more or less as meh as the album - not bad but not something you'll be rushing to show your friends - but obviously all that is entirely subjective.
