This version from Spinefarm Records is definitely a great pressing.

I recently picked this up and noticed that on the cover insert, it looks like the layout guide text 'FRONT COVER' is printed over the artwork, and on the last page 'BACK COVER' is printed over some of the Roll of Honour listings... Anyone else have this on their copy?

Also, anyone know if this is the original audio, the remaster from 2005 or a new remaster? I could only find information about the vinyl release.

It doesn’t say here that it is a remaster, but I’m pretty convinced it said remaster when I ordered it

Wow I am pleasantly surprised. I was expecting this to be like a lot of other KJ reissues -muddy and compressed. This is dynamic, loud and clear - the remastering is great, as I'm hearing parts I've never heard before on the CD. The pressing is also flat and clean. It's standard 120grams, if anyone was wondering.

Happy and glad to have this pressing and mix. My CD from 1994, along with CD singles from Pandemonium, is all I have to compare this pressing with. The vinyl sound/mix is excellent! Just wish the vinyl repressing was a gatefold. In the end, well worth the wait from overseas mail to have this copy in hand!

Anyone know how the artwork is revised and what difference it bears compared to the original?

Outstanding pressing and mix. Completely can hear the separation of all instruments, synths, vocals, sound effects. All even. Drums crisp. I've the original Zoo pressing and I haven't listened to it on my newer, higher-end turntable I have in the last year, but I will. That said, refreshing to hear this difference, was really pleased. I'm really pleasantly surprised. Frankly because I've not been happy in past KJ Spinefarm vinyl original year of released vinyl; the CDs, imo, were just better, minus going into band production. Meh, Georgie might be a little lighter or brighter vs deeper depth...but, f. It! This sounds great. Can always fall back on Geordie's guitar density on other pressings or releases, if that's really the case? Idk? I'm human. Been listening to Pandemonium for 26 years.

I'm extremely happy with this reissue. I have listened to Pandemonium in digital format for a few years, and as much as I loved most of the songs, I found that it sounded a bit cold and that it lacked in cohesiveness as a whole. The vinyl fixes both issues, as far as I'm concerned.
Also, English not being my native language, I had never paid attention to the lyrics. Having them printed adds a lot to the experience.
The only drawback is that it's not a gatefold sleeve, like the 2008 version was, but it's not too important.

Has the best cover art of any KJ album, but musically one of their worst efforts (sadly, as it came between two of their greatest, ‘Extremities’ and ‘Democracy’).

'Communion' and the title track are the best pieces, but most of it feels tired and lacking in inspiration.

Long time KJ fan since my simultaneous discovery in 1984 of S/T (Malicious Damage) 1980 and “Night Time” 1985.

After Raven left KJ yet again to contribute to Prong, original bassist Youth returned to the fold with a decade's worth of production and other projects under his belt, and armed with a drum machine and session drummers/percussionists, KJ now tackled the early 90s hybridization of techno-flavored metal-infusion which seemed to be the logical continuation of the post aggro/dust of industrial bands and "Lords Of Acid" stylings. With the techno scene removing itself more and more from the aggro dust, the latter also burrowing electro elements to mix with their post-industrial rants, the 90s hybrid projects would have a hard time both fitting in and seperating themselves from standardized labelling.

With extra production assistance and mixing enabling some of their songs to feel as crisp and clean as a DJ mix but retaining all of Geordie's brilliantly heavy and perfectly inspired "in the moment" guitar riffs, Jaz's maniacal vocal screatches and guteral throat gruntings, KJ once again re-invent their own sound while simultaneously offer another new wave of musical mutations to inspire others. Adding to their mythos a series of EPs and heavy club-friendly techno remixes and re-interpretations (Juno Reactor's version of "Millenium" is almost an instrumental of Traci Lords' "Control"), "Pandemonium" also retains moments and elements reminicent of 90s grunge recipes.

With about half of the tracks feeling more like semi-grunge head-banging moments, and the other obviously somewhat more club floor oriented, it is difficult to adequately appreciate this album as anything else but KJ experimenting with the electronic flavors of the day, and their own inspired existentialism/philosophical musings. Tracks like "Communion" and "Labyrinth" stand out as simple yet highly effective original compositions, while "Whiteout" and "Exorcism" are pure Jaz growlings mixed with club heavy rhythms and fevered Geordie riffs. A personnal stand-out and favorite remains "Mathematics Of Chaos" which sounds slightly murky and over-produced but is perhaps the most thought provoking and emotionally charged piece from the album.

In terms of another addition to the KJ discography, "Pandemonium" remains as one of their more unconventional offerings, a sign of the times, and a highly effective LP well worth the addition to any KJ collector, even if the record may require a few listens before sinking in at the proper level of appreciation. Deffinitely one of my favorites.
