Green Mars is an odd album, fitting somewhere between 1990s industrial and techno, yet removed, embracing none of the clichés of either genre. Most of the tracks somehow miss their mark, not being bad but not being particularly good, either. But there are two moody, acid-influenced tracks that stand head and shoulders above the rest: "You selected this yourself, at random", and the album's title track, "Green Mars". The former is essentially slow progressive trance with electro elements, and the latter is astonishingly deep, Detroit-styled electro-techno which could be mistaken for an undiscovered Drexciya or B12 track. Both tracks demonstrate what Italian musicians do best: melody. They would've made a great 12" single. They still would.
