This is Kokomo's second album, and there are some great moments on it. "Little Girl" is a great song, sung in a strong
falsetto. "Without Me" is a bitter song of jealosy, with the singer Dyan Birch chanting the line "you'll never make it without me"
again and again, almost as if she's trying to convice herself. It's a great song and filled with torn emotions.
The choruses in this band are often sung in a soaring falsetto by Frank Collins and Paddy McHugh,as in "Use Your
Imagination" which is a well written song, performed in a lively way,  as is the rousing title track "Rise and Shine" a call for all
people all over the world to wake up to injustice. Kokomo were a great instrumental band, and the singers were
so tight as a unit (As both were core voices of the bands Arrival and Kokomo) that a band like this is unlikely to happen again
out of the UK. They were Dusty Springfield's darlings, she adored them, and like Dusty they were one of a kind.
