I almost didn't buy this because the artwork is rather terrible and does not suit the early Castlevania era at all in my opinion. The cover is so unfitting that I had to remind myself why I wanted it in the first place, which was obviously for the great music it contained. The artist is talented, but not right for this franchise IMO.

The ONLY Video Game OST I had burned on a disc. It was nice to get an official pressing. Just sucks they decided to throw in some of the game sound effects on one of the tracks and ruined it.

Really, I don’t understand what the hoo-ha is with this soundtrack. It’s pretty good, but no part of it really caught my attention as being especially great. Maybe it stood out as something unique and captivating back in the early nineties, but I never heard it then, I’m listening to it now. The pressing is top notch though. Mondo have really earned my trust in that department.

The first three Castlevania releases were good collectibles but this to me is the first "must own". This soundtrack stands up with some of the best SNES works from the era. The vinyl pressing is mastered fine considering the simplicity of the source material. Packaging and artwork are quality as with most Mondo releases. Pick it up!
