This album wasn't what I expected, at first it seemed somehow poppy and way to cheerful not heavy enough for what I was looking for, but this album grew on me (and in the following year became one of my most listened to albums). Every track on here rocks hard and beautifully especially "Forsaken" and "Tired Climb". For me this is a great melding of Smashing Pumpkins, Fugazi and Black Sabbath taking this different hues and blending their own (while not unfamiliar) colour. A good follow up to their previous amazing album "Static Tensions". Often when bands do the dual drum set thing they put the spot light on it and treat it like some kind of drum battle selling point, Kylesa treats all instruments equally and drummers Newberry and McGinley are a machine spotlighting as a team rather than competing percussionists. I personally love the dual vocals of Pleasants and Cope. I would give easily give this album 4/5 stars.

---This special shiny DVD release isn't really worth the extra-money. I highly recommend the album, but the making of DVD is weak and seems unfinished. As a sound engineer and tech geek it was cool to see the artists in the studio with their gear, however it seemed like the "film maker" (more of random Youtube segment than a as labeled "film") arrived late and left early. Cope was eager to share his thoughts there was some interesting talk about the work flow of scoring the drums. Pleasants seemed absent, and there were no vocal takes. It seemed like maybe other than Cope no one was interested in being on camera.
- This terrible "making of film" could have been forgiven if there were other things on the DVD like music videos (which for this album hadn't been made yet) or a surround sound mix of the album, what with 2 drummers that would have been killer.

Is anyone elses a white vinyl with light blue/pink marbling? Lyrics insert sheet. Same barcode and matrix number?
