These Promo's are numbered. The second run of the boxset are continued from the promo. First run (promotional copy) where sealed with a Promotional Copy text included on the cover sticker. The second release (Limited Release) has the information printed on the center of the boxset with silver sticker in the top right hand corner with the release number. Very confusing. Must have release close to 10,000 if not more.

i have this promo version that is supposed to be limited to 5000 copies yet my is #7408. i have no doubt it's part of the the 5000 copies as i have about 15-20 other numbered promos from GLR/LGR and other bukem labels. just curious

Earth 2 established the series as a mainstay for GLR artists to expand to other genres and explore their artistic endeavors on an established label. Good Looking Records at this point was cemented as the go-to label for their atmospheric Drum and Bass sound, which in 1998, was a successful contrast to the popular darker edged Techstep sound.

What differs this entry from the previous 2 releases is the addition to GLR resident MCs. It is of no consequence why "Constellations" is deeply embedded in hip-hop execution. In short, DRS kills it here unquestionably. His delivery and flow are absolutely impeccable in a stern voice, but neither overwhelming to drown out the melody. The track Bukem lays out acts as a complimentary voice in its instrumentation while simultaneously giving it that "rare groove" jazz elements.

As it happens, my copy of this LP (not the promo) is numbered at 8000 and something...so I guess the theory about there being 10,000 copies may be right.

Either way it doesn't really matter, it's still a great album (although I personally feel one of the weaker Earth LP's) which is still by no means an insult. You just have to look at the quality of the other albums to get a perspective on just how good a weaker one could still be!

Worth tracking down a copy, even if just to complete your Earth collection.

The label on the front of the full release boxset claims it is limited to 5000 copies. So does the label on the front of the promo copy. I wonder if it was actually 10,000 in total, 5000 of them being promos and the other 5000 being full release. It has been noted that serials as high as 6838 exist. Just a thought.

Technically exactly the same as the eventual full vinyl edition, just released previously as a promotional item.
