This has been with me for soo long. Just listened to it again after a while. Definitely one of the best recorded mixes in this genre, hands down.

I've modeled my DJing after LG and he makes it look easy. The choices he makes on here are creative and work so well, like Deviant Behavior and French. But take this dreamy flangy Moonbeam track...fits nicely with into this deep dark dark track, Blue Orchidee, right? Not so fast! How about this random choice out of nowhere first, a beautiful upbeat Carl Craig remix -- THEN Blue Orchidee.... Somehow it works. You think you're out of the woods then your head is back in lude-world, followed by this foggy gorgeous mesmerizer Salinas which just puts you in some other dimension, a techno track unlike anything else.

LG's mixing taught me to look beyond genre and go for moods, do the unexpected. (Derrick Carter used to do be a master at this back in the day too). So rarely does it actually work out well and that's where you gain respect for these guys.

Garnier's first ever mixed CD on the market & what a timeless piece of MIX !!!! Laurent knows how to make music sounds emotional & the way he mixes "deviant behaviour" into "french" would even bring a tear to your eye.

This mix shows that techno does have to be about throwing down thirty five loop tools in an hour to prove your skills. Laurent's mixes are extremely drawn out to the point of creating new tunes from the two records playing over the top of each other - in some instances he mixes the next track in for almost three minutes. Its a shame nobody still makes music like this anymore - stuff that incorporates house tempo and rhythms, the melody and beauty of trance, the futuristic sounds and effects of techno and with a pinch of acid thrown in for good measure. One of my top ten mix cd's without a doubt. Timeless and mesmerising.
