I could take or leave the rest of the Leaether Strip catalogue, but this should be in the collection of anyone who digs early-90s EBM. "Strap Me Down" is a classic single, and the rest of the tracks hold their own. The production has a gritty analog feel to it, and works well with the fat arpeggiated basslines and driving low-fi sampled drums.

As with most Leaether Strip releases, Solitary Confinement contains absolute must-have, classic tracks, amidst some lesser "filler" tracks (though compared to other bands, these tracks are relatively stellar).

This album isn't as good all-around as, say, Legacy of Hate & Lust or The Rebirth of Agony, but there are some tracks on here that must be in the collection of any industrial fan. Alongside Tactical Neural Implant, this here is a piece of EBM history.

This is the album that introduced me to Claus Larsen, the genius behind Leaether Strip. It is truly a landmark release. I think alot of today's electro-industrial bands were inspired by "Solitary Confinement", which is in my opinion Claus Larsen's best work to date. Top notch composition along with deeply inspired, angst filled lyrical content. On a related note, i think this is the only time Cleopatra Records did a custom artwork that's actually nice to look at.
