Probably one of the best things I've heard from former Yugoslavia. This Macedonian group was apparently very popular. On their debut they alternated between high energy fusion on the lines of Mahavishnu Orchestra and more acoustic, pastoral passages that reminds me a bit of PFM. It's a bit obvious the guitarist worshipped at the altar of John McLaughlin, as he provides plenty of those similar, high speed leads. The gentler numbers tend to feature vocals, I guess they wanted to record more "commercial" (not that the vocal numbers were really all that commercial) material probably to hook listeners in, in between the instrumental fusion material. Regardless it works. Many people disliked the vocal songs on Mahavishnu's Inner Worlds, because they were too close to R&B and soul (Narada Michael Walden, mainly, handled the vocals on that album), Leb i Sol avoided that mistake by giving it a more folk/prog feel to them (honesty I didn't find Inner Worlds all that bad, even the vocal cuts, but many don't like it). Keyboards include piano, clavinet, electric piano, and surprisingly Mellotron on four cuts (Mellotron disappeared after this album in favor of a string synth). Tron strings and flute that are hard to mistake for anything else. If you're looking for more great fusion and prog, especially from off-the-beaten path countries, this is required in your collection.
