99% of these "Unofficial" coloured vinyls of classic albums by Led Zep, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Bowie (the list is endless) are coming out of Eastern Europe. They are poor quality unmastered pirate copies made with inferior equipment in second rate studios or maybe an old shed somewhere in Moscow. Most of the recent coloured vinyls listed on Discogs as "Unofficial" are actually illegal. If Discogs don't let us sell bootlegs to people who actually know what they are buying, why are they sanctioning the sale of unofficial pirated copes to buyers who have no idea they are buying worthless pirated low grade recordings?

These LPs are beiing copied direct from a digital file with no mastering whatsoever. This blight on the collecting industry has escalated to mammoth proportions in the last 5 years with no action from the BPI. 99% of all Unofficial coloured vinyls are cheap worthless pirated shite that will never go up in value & sound inferior. Unofficial pirated copies should not be allowed in any discography anywhere.

Note that coloured vinyls are not Bootlegs. Bootlegs are not copies of previously released music. Bootlegs are unreleased recordings which is significantly different to exact copies of released material. They are not PIRATE copies. UNOFFICIAL is not the correct description as it covers Pirated vinyl & Bootleg vinyl.

Bootlegs are NOT deceiving the public.
Pirated copies ARE deciving the public.

Vinyl is making a comeback which is great but buying this worthless rubbish is damaging the reputation of vinyl & lining the pockets of gangsters & suspicious organisations.

Maybe you already know all this so please copy and paste where you see fit.

My island album, the one I would want. Such a diverse album with incredible musicianship. As a bonus I could play with the spinning wheel for hours.

We have several copies of this LP with the red/purple label (not Peter Grant credit) which came with the West Germany rotating cover. I suppose that there was a shortage at some point so they shipped in these sleeves to meet demand

I just got an early US pressing off eBay and I was looking at the cover and noticed that two of the holes that reveal the spinning wheel are not punched through. Is this anything special? I've never heard anything about it and can't find anything about it elsewhere on the Internet.

PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE HEARD OF THIS COPY. Black light induced vinyl!!!!! Looks normal when not under a black light but glows like a tie-dye splatter when under a black light.

Hi all, I'm trying to catalogue My collection and would be grateful for any assistance. I have a copy of LZ III that appears to be a first press as listed here (Peter Grant credit etc.) but has an A7 matrix no. Any ideas? Thanks.

My copy of Led Zeppelin III is a mint condition 2401002 A-5 with inscriptions and the original 'spin for fun' cover. I'm trying to value it for insurance. Does anyone know what it's actually worth? I paid ten pounds for it...
