Notes

1st UK pressing on 'plum' label which is red/white/plum. Feather symbol on side 2 is inverted.
This label layout identifies the first pressing.
It is part of the first production batch of the UK red/plum Atlantic label for this title.
Same for labels versions 2, 3 and 4.

No mention of Superhype Music Inc.

Executive Producer credit for Peter Grant (which was removed in various ways from all subsequent pressings - see below).

Heavyweight unlaminated gatefold sleeve, printed and made in England.

Inner sleeve has lyrics to 'Stairway to Heaven' on one side and track titles and credits on the other. The first inner sleeves are dark gray with two foldback edges to the side. Interestingly, whilst Jimmy Page succeeded in having the Peter Grant credit removed from the labels, they were never removed from the inner sleeves.

There are currently 8 verified and known 'plum' label variants.

This release was commonly referred to as 'Led Zeppelin IV', to follow in sequence with their previous three releases, but no actual title appears on the release.

I can't find my version. It has 'K5008' on the inner sleeve and labels, the four symbols on the label, and 'Manufactured in the UK' at 9 o'clock on the labels with 'v' under that. It has 'K 5008 A-2', 'W 4 7' and 'STEAMBERRY' on the side a run outs and 'A/M', 'W-2', and 'K 50008 B5' on side b. Can anyone else find this? Have I just missed it?

What constitutes a "1st. Press" ?
I bought what was advertised as a 1st. press on ebay and when I look here my copy comes way down the list.
It's still on the Atlantic red plum label and looking closer it seems to be "Version 5" of the 8 variants which is very close to being pressed in 1972, I think.
Do I have a 1st press? or do I have a 2nd. 3rd. 4th. 5th. 6th. etc.
Hope someone can help because I'm confused with it all, not easy this collecting lark.

Any idea which one I might have? The label print says ST-A-712285 SP P 1971, catalog print says SD 7208 R112014A, and the runout says R112014A 2S 0-3 on Side A and R112014B 5S 0-3 on Side B. Sound quality is quite horrible and I'm regretting the purchase.
